Jim Carrey does the near-impossible, portraying the ultimate humbugger Ebenezer Scrooge in four stages of his life and all three Christmas ghosts, and director Zemeckis perfects his next-gen 3-D performance capture to put it all on the screen. When those ghosts take Scrooge on the ultimate thrill ride, there's no turning back. Technical credits – which in this case include a true 3-D pop – are more than OK.
